The researches in this Molecular System Engineering Lab would be expressed, in shorter words, as "Material Science based on Chemistry". Various molecules and their assemblies exhibt chemical and physical properties or unique functionalities characteristic of their molecular structure and molecular assembly. Thereby, ingenious combinations of these molecules would allow us to develop novel devices with new function or high performance.
In this laboratory, we are aiming at basic understanding of the chemistry and physics in such molecular assemblies and thereupon, developing new functional devices focusing on imaging, opto-electronic, energy conversion, and sensing devices mainly from the view point of chemistry of materials.
